1. Who we are

LinksWatcher is an AI-powered affiliate link monitoring service operated by Amine LAL (sole proprietor). Our primary mission is to help content creators, bloggers, and affiliate marketers protect their revenue by detecting out-of-stock products, missing affiliate tags, and other link issues that silently erode earnings.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what is strictly necessary to provide and improve the service:

• Account data: email address, display name, and authentication credentials (password hash or OAuth provider ID).
• Workspace data: space names, monitored URLs, link labels, and notes you provide.
• Scan data: screenshots of monitored pages, AI analysis results, product metadata (title, price, stock status), and scan timestamps.
• Billing data: Stripe customer ID and subscription status. We never store full credit card numbers — all payment processing is handled by Stripe.
• Usage data: page views, feature usage patterns, and error logs for service improvement.
• Communication data: messages sent via the contact form, support emails, and alert preferences.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• Running automated link monitoring scans and AI Vision analysis.
• Delivering email and Telegram alerts when link issues are detected.
• Displaying scan results, screenshots, and revenue impact estimates in your dashboard.
• Processing billing and managing your subscription through Stripe.
• Providing customer support and responding to inquiries.
• Improving the service through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
• Sending essential service communications (security alerts, plan changes, scheduled maintenance).

4. AI processing and third-party services

LinksWatcher uses OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API to analyze screenshots of monitored product pages. When a scan occurs, the screenshot is sent to OpenAI for analysis. OpenAI's data usage policy applies to this processing. Screenshots are sent without any personal user data — only the visual content of the product page is transmitted. We also use:

• Stripe — for payment processing and subscription management.
• Browserless — for headless browser rendering of monitored URLs.
• BrightData — for geo-specific product page access when regional monitoring is required.
• Resend — for transactional email delivery (alerts, receipts, support responses).

5. Data we never collect or sell

We want to be absolutely clear about what we do NOT do:

• We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We never use your data for ad targeting or retargeting.
• We never access your affiliate account credentials (Amazon Associates, etc.).
• We never share your monitored URLs or scan results with other users or third parties.
• We never use tracking pixels from social media platforms.

6. Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3.
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with appropriate salt rounds.
• Database access requires role-based authentication and is logged.
• API keys and secrets are stored in encrypted environment variables, never in source code.
• Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and dependencies.
• Hosting on Vercel with SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure.

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Scan screenshots are retained for up to 90 days (configurable per plan). When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to individual users.

8. Your rights (GDPR & international)

Regardless of where you reside, you have the following rights:

• Right to access: request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: request permanent deletion of your account and associated data.
• Right to portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format (CSV export).
• Right to object: object to certain processing of your data.
• Right to restrict: request that we limit processing of your data.

10. Children's privacy

LinksWatcher is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email to all registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
