Cookie Policy

How LinksWatcher uses cookies and similar technologies.

Last updated: March 1, 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the service. LinksWatcher uses cookies sparingly and only for purposes that directly serve your experience.

2. Essential cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for LinksWatcher to function. They handle authentication, session management, and security. Without them, you cannot log in or use the dashboard. Essential cookies cannot be disabled.

  • Session cookie — maintains your authenticated session across page navigations.
  • CSRF token — protects against cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Language preference — remembers your selected language (EN/FR).

3. Functional cookies

Functional cookies enhance your experience by remembering settings and preferences you've chosen.

  • Dashboard layout — remembers your preferred view (list, grid, compact).
  • Space last viewed — returns you to your last active space on login.
  • Notification preferences — stores your alert configuration locally.

4. Analytics cookies

We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how LinksWatcher is used and where we can improve. We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising tracker.

  • Page view counter — anonymous, aggregated page view data for feature prioritization.
  • No personal data is collected via analytics cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking. No ad retargeting. No data sold to third parties.

5. Third-party cookies

LinksWatcher integrates with Stripe for payment processing. Stripe may set its own cookies during the checkout flow to prevent fraud and process payments securely. These cookies are governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We do not use social media tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or embedded third-party content that sets cookies.

6. How to manage cookies

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using LinksWatcher's authenticated features. For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, visit your browser's help documentation.

7. Data retention

Essential and functional cookies expire when your session ends or after 30 days of inactivity. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized — no individual user data is retained beyond the session.

8. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.

9. Contact

For questions about our use of cookies, contact us via the contact form.
